The Complex Behaviour Support program responds to the needs of children, youth and their families living with Fetal Alcohol Sprectrum Disorders and Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions.

We believe that children and families thrive best in a strengths-based environment. Families are at the centre of services and supports are collaborative, culturally sensitive, individualized and flexible. We are trauma-informed and attachment based.
What we do:
Services are available to children from birth to 18 years of age and their families. Children and youth who are referred have a diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or a Complex Development and Behavioural Condition (CDBC), or are in the process of receiving one. Services are provided on and off site.
We focus on strengthening families and promoting healthy child/youth development. Our approach is based on the recognition of FASD/CDBC as a brain-based physical (invisible) disability with behavioural symptoms. We believe we need to accommodate and support people with FASD/CDBC as we do with any other physical disability.

Referrals are accepted from parents, schools, social workers, health professionals and other community agencies. Referrals can also be made by Vancouver Coastal Health’s Sunny Hill Health Centre; Ministry of Children and Family Development; Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society; and the Vancouver School Board. Referrals are accepted only for residents of the City of Vancouver.
